The Solidaire Economy network in Zimbabwe focuses on Adding Value to Sustainable Agricultural Produce (AFAU 1). Since it’s inception, the network has been wronlgy refered to as "the Volens network". Even though Volens supports the network, it is the member organisations that are the real backbone.
Bearing this in mind, the communications responsibles from all member organisations decided in November 2008 that the network should have a proper name which could be used for joint publications such as a website, a recipe book, funding proposals, etc.
The accronym ZAVSAP was then born: Zimbabwe - Adding Value to Sustainable Agriculture Produce. The accronym is easy to pronounce and to remember, while at the same time the full name captures perfectly what the network is about.
Soon after the name followed the website www.zavsap.org. The website aims at presenting the member organisations and their activities regarding value-addition. In the near future it will feature pictures of the trainings and workshops organised by the network.
